The Next meeting of the Parish Council  in Filkins Village Hall on 12th January 2022 has been cancelled.

We will still be following the Covid protocol so 2 m distancing, please wear masks when moving around the hall, sign in with Covid app or sign the attendance sheet and use hand sanitizer provided,

Temporary Traffic Regulation Order – S14 Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984

Temporary Road Closure and “No Waiting” Restriction at Filkins, A361

In the interests of public safety it will be necessary for Oxfordshire County Council to close a section of the A361 to facilitate carriageway patching works.

A Temporary Traffic Regulation Order (TTRO) is being made to implement the temporary closure and “No Waiting” restriction and will operate from 14 January 2022 The estimated completion of the works is 25 January 2022.  The closure will operate nightly between 20.00 and 06.00.

TM Plan

Bin Collection for Friday 18th February 2022 has been suspended due to incoming storm. They will now be collected on Monday 21st.

Everyone is invited to a meeting in the Village Hall at 7.30pm on Tuesday 8th March to discuss the village events which are being planned.

The 2022 season starts on SUNDAY 1^ST MAY at 2.00 and the exhibition this year will be based on the village since the Accession to the throne of Queen Elizabeth in 1952. Just what has happened hereabouts? You would be amazed at just some of the activities and milestones that have happened.

A Concert of Eastern European Gypsy Music in support of Ukraine.
All music is from Ukraine and neighbouring countries giving refuge to those who are escaping.

“Back to 1952” – swing band and fish and chips in Filkins Village Hall from 7.30pm

til late followed by all years disco. Dress up in 1950’s clothes (if you want) and

dance the evening away. Tickets £5 per person or £15 for a family of up to 4 – this

will cover your fish and chips. Tickets will be available from the Village Shop and

Cotswold Woollen Weavers.

Please buy your tickets in advance as we have to give numbers to the fish and

chip van.

Don't forget to collect your Schedule for the Produce Show in August, available from the Village Shop and Cotswold Woollen Weavers, remember there is a class for almost everyone, especially the children, who made such super crowns at a workshop on the tea party day!

Supporting Breast Cancer Research

Work is starting on the village community project.

Come and help clear the village centre garden so we can transform it into the Platinum Garden.

Meet at 10am behind the Village Centre - please bring cutters, gloves and wheelbarrows.

Spend an hour - spend longer up to you.

Please let Andy Hoad andyhoad@hotmail.co.uk know if you are coming or just arrive!

Come and support the Village Shop who will be holding a Bonfire Night from 6pm on 5th November.

Drinks and BBQ will be available.

There will not be any fireworks at this event but please bring your own sparklers - please be sensible and we ask all parents to supervise their children

Father Christmas will be arriving in Filkins on
Saturday 3rd December, 5.45 pm at the Bus Shelter Grotto,
accompanied by Mr Fuddles of course!
Sweets for all the children - squash - cakes and for the adults, mulled wine and mince pies.
Christmas music will be played, and the tree lights will be switched on at 6pm.
Donation can be made on the evening to support the event

The next meeting of the Parish Council will be  taking place in Filkins Village Hall Committee Room at 7.30pm on 15 December 2022.
