Tucked away in the heart of Filkins, there is an allotment oasis! We have two sites within the village one at the Village Centre and one at The Gassons
In 2011 the Ernest Cook Trust agreed to lease a pocket of land in the Village Centre to the Parish Council, so that allotments could be provided in the village. Fourteen allotments have been created and they were quickly snapped up by locals keen to embrace 'The Good Life'.
The current rent for an allotment is £25 per annum, we do have some half plots available if a whole plot is too large. There is running water and everyone helps each other out- it is a very sociable place to be.
If you would like to enquire or need more information on the allotments, please contact Jennifer Rooke our Allotment representative.
The second site is on the open area at The Gassons. This area is rented by the Parish Council from West Oxfordshire District Council. The lease expires in 2019 and we are currently negotiating to renew this and keep the open space. If you are interested in an allotment in this area please contact the Clerk. Details are on the Parish Council page.
