Pukka Teas : Just In
We have just received a small range of Pukka Teas, generously donated by Euan, our village herbalist, to sell in the Shop at the amazing introductory price of £2.50p a box (usual price is £3.45p) and already we have sold some!
At the moment we have – Wild Apple & Cinnamon; Elderberry & Echinacea; Lemon Grass & Ginger; Night Time; and Joy.

Award Winning Bakes
Congratulations to our shop bakers for winning prizes at this year’s Village Produce Show for their Focaccia and Chocolate Brownies. We, in the Shop, always knew they were great, this just proves it! Why not try some yourself?
Focaccia is available on Saturdays (best to pre-order)
Chocolate Brownies (along with Millionaire’s Shortbread and if you are lucky, chocolate coated flapjacks) on Mondays

Bread and Buns from Blake’s
Just a reminder that you can place your order with us for cinnamon buns and sourdough bread (either malted or white, slices or unsliced) from Blake’s Kitchen during the week, then collect it from the Shop Saturday morning. Jubilee Celebrations
What a great time we all had celebrating the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee!
In the shop we were busy with some of the volunteers extremely busy offering prosecco, wine and beer at the Thursday’s lighting of the beacon and again at Sunday’s Big Jubilee Tea – this time offering not only more prosecco but also Pimm’s along with strawberries & ice cream. It was a great weekend.

Greeting Cards : Further six
The blank greeting cards we launched in January are proving such a great hit we have added a further six.
Three of the new cards are again painted by Ronnie Bailey – more spring and summery this time. The other three which are slightly smaller but big on detail, are painted by Broughton Pogg’s artist Jennifer Holyroyd.
All of Ronnie’s cards are priced at £2.00 each whilst Jennifer’s (slightly smaller in size) are priced at £1.80 each.

New Roadside Sign
We have revamped our roadside board at the top of Rouses Lane. The new board includes an Open and Closed sign. We hope this helps to know when we are open.

Filkins Organic Eggs
The Shop has begun to sell a limited number (depends on the hens!?) of Filkins own organic eggs.

Homemade Brownies and Millionaire’s Shortbread
Homemade millionaire’s shortbread or chocolate brownies (the baker alternates) are now being sold in the Shop on Mondays. They are quite yummy and sell out quickly too!

Greeting Cards
The Shop has launched its first set of blank greeting cards showing local scenes painted by our own village artist, Ronnie Bailey. The cards are priced at £2.00 each or 5 cards (of your choosing) for the price of 4!
Proceeds go to village charities including the playground project.
In case you need a postage stamp, we also sell those!
